Mining activities comprise comprehensive and detailed studies. Mine planning stages come at the start of these activities. For optimal evaluation of mine deposit in planning stage, obtaining of sensitive three-dimensional solid model of deposit is required. Nowadays, the solid model has been made easily by the software packages. However, which method is used during the creation of a solid model, and how to determine the boundaries of the solid model is an important subject of discussion. This study covers an investigation of methods which are used on solid and surface modeling, the availability of the polynomial interpolation method using in surface modeling and comparison of performance of this method with some methods in literature.
